Active and athletic pregnant women can finally get the exercise they need and want while wearing well-fitting, performance maternity clothing. If you are not aware that regular physical exercise is recommended for good physical and mental health, put down those chips, turn off the TV, and move slowly off the couch. Until now, there has been a void in the performance apparel industry for active and athletic pregnant women.
The concept of Jakfish was envisioned in 2005 by Stephanie Teleen, a mother of two, who wanted to continue her active lifestyle throughout her pregnancies. While the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommended that pregnant women get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise daily, there were no clothes specifically designed for active and athletic pregnant women.
After many fruitless searches for appropriately fitting clothing made with the kind of performance fabrics Stephanie was accustomed to in her pre-pregnancy clothes, she made the decision to create her own line of maternity clothing to fill the void.
