Queensland fashion store gives emerging designers their big break

Fortitude Valley store The Tribune Brisbane is helping emerging local designers by stocking their gear and featuring them on the catwalk at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival.

Minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry Desley Boyle said the concept store developed by the Jean Brown Group aimed to help Queensland’s emerging talent break into the commercial fashion world.

“The Tribune Brisbane supports innovation and creation in the buying market by focusing on the importance of originality,” Ms Boyle said.

“The store has chosen numerous designers from a growing list of designers fresh out of local tertiary education institutions like the Queensland University of Technology ( QUT ) and Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE ( MSIT ).”

“It also helps to educate young designers about the business of fashion retailing, something that’s vital to their success.”
